Director of Bands
I graduated from Midwest City High School in 2009 and went on to study music education at Oklahoma City University and graduated in 2014. My primary instrument is french horn. My secondary instruments include piano, guitar, percussion, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, flute, clarinet, and saxophone.
I received my Bachelor of Music Education degree from OCU. I am certified for Pre-K through 12 grade Instrumental/General Music.
I am involved in the Oklahoma Music Educators Association, Oklahoma Bandmasters Association, and the International Horn Society.
This is my first year with Okarche. I will be teaching high school band, junior high band, 6th grade band, 7th grade reading, and music appreciation.
During the last four years, I have worked as a consultant for Express Employment Professionals. I played a part in managing our 830 offices in the U.S. and Canada, ensuring that the offices were successful in placing candidates with compatible companies.
Prior to Express, I had two years of teaching teaching 6th-12th grade band, musical theater, and music appreciation. I have also had experience teaching praise bands and choirs.
I am not married and I don’t have kids or pets. But I am looking into getting a husky puppy eventually!
In my spare time, I love playing board/card games with friends and family, swimming, going to the lake, playing volleyball and ping pong, practicing piano, and *thinking* about going for a bike ride. One must have a bike in order to go on a bike ride though, so I’m working on that part.
