          I graduated from Okarche High School in 1999, making All-State in Basketball.  I attended Redlands Community College for one year, before transferring to Oklahoma State University.  I graduated from OSU in 2004 with a Bachelors degree in Secondary Education Social Studies.  I was a basketball student assistant coach at Morrison HS, helping guide them to a State Tournament appearance in 2004.

           My first teaching and head basketball coaching job was at Verden High School in 2004.  In 2005, I became a Social Studies teacher and head basketball coach at Lomega High School .   A as coach, I helped guide them to 4 District Championships, 2 Regional Championships, 4 Area tournaments, 1 Area-Finals appearance, and a State-Semi Finals appearance. The last 4 years while at Lomega we where Canton Tournament Champs and runners-ups, Conference Champs and runner-ups,  and Conference Regular Season Champs twice, while winning over 82 games in that span.    

           I was named Head Coach of the KOFM All-Star game in 2009, Cherokee Strip Conference Coach of the year in 2011, CTBS Coach of the year in 2012, and Kingfisher Masonic Lodge Teacher of Today for Lomega High School in the 2011-2012 school year. In the 2012-2013 season, I was named OBCA Assistant Coach of the year, for District 1.  I have been part of the OCA All-State selection commite twice and the OBCA All-Star game selection commitee 5 times. During 2013-2014 basektball season, I was named JH Coach of the Year, for District 1. During the 2014-15  and 2018-2019 in basketball, I was named Assistant Coach of the Year, for District 1.   I have been a  member of the OCA and OBCA for the last 17 years.  

          In the 2012-2013 school year,  I was hired by Okarche Public schools.  I taught 1st-6th grade Physical Education.  The move allowed me to be able to coach with my father Ray West, who was the head boys basketball coach at Okarche from 1994 to 2019.  My father passed after a short battle with cancer in the summer of 2019. Leaving behind a Hall of Fame career that changed lives and that left him second all time in career wins at 853.  I feel extremely blessed to be able to coach with my mentor, best friend, and father for the time we had together.  

The 2014-2016 school years I taught American History, US Government, Economics, Financial Literacy, 5th and 6th Basketball, J-H Basketball, and HS Assistant Basketball.  

From 2016-2019 I am the World Geography, Economics, and Financial Literacy teacher.  I also coach 5th and 6th, J-H Basketball, and HS Assistant Basketball.

From 2012-2019 as an assistant coach,  I have been part of the last 7 Area Tournament appearances for the High School Boys Basketball team and a State Semi-Finals appearance in 2019.

          I have resided in Okarche for over 26 years of my life.  I married Ryan Rother, who is from Okarche, in 2006. We have been blessed with 3 children, Emory is 10, Easton is 8, and Enslie is 5 years old. I believe in working hard to get what you want, treating people with respect, and develping our future generations to be successful adults. I feel anything is possible in life when you do things the right way!!! There is no substitute for hard work!!! I love family life, the thrill of competition, the Oklahoma State Cowboys, and the Chicago Cubs. I feel blessed to be back home teaching and following in my father’s footsteps in carrying the tradition of the Okarche Warrior basketball program.   I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence that has made this school system and community the best one out there.  I'm looking forward to another GREAT YEAR!!!!!
